No the Kindle does not read aloud. At least not that I've been able to discover over my time with it. They do have an app called audible which reads to you though!

However, it cannot "read aloud" a standard Kindle eBook. The Paperwhite is equipped with Bluetooth, so you can pair your favorite wireless headphones or a speaker to listen to your audiobooks that way. In short: if you own the Audible version, you’re all set to listen! If you have the Kindle version, it will be for reading only. I hope this helps. Have a great day!
