Yes. You don't need to touch to talk to Amazon tap with this model.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There was A firmware update in Aug. 2017 which gave it a hands free option. You just go to the alexa app and choose hands free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The newer version operates exactly like the Amazon Echo. You siimply say "Alexa" followed by a command, such as "What was the score of the Yankees baseball game?" You can also still press a button to "wake up" the Tap if you prefer. Note that the newer version Tap may not immediately work in hands-free mode. There is a firmware update required once the Tap starts to communicate with your wifi network. You will not see any evidence that the firmware is being downloaded and applied. It happens automatically, but not necessarily immediately. It can take up to 24 hours for the update to become effective. As with the Echo and the Dot, it is much easier to set up the Tap through the Alexa App on a computer.
