You can only use a Ubiquiti Amplifi Alien router/mesh point. You can do it by wired backhaul.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes that should work. I have 2 routers with one setup as a mesh point. My back haul is hard wired. it works well. I didn’t see much value in the mesh kit over just getting another fully functional router that has a full display. I like the idea of being able to reconfigure as a router if one fails.

It works beautifully for me!! I now have complete coverage in my two story home.Alien routers are designed only to work with other Alien routers. I hope this answers your question.
