A 6 year old would definitely be able to play this game. There is a story line that is easy to follow but is not necessary. This is mainly a free-play type of game. You start out with an island that you build up to a 5-star rating. You craft items out of things that you find on your island such as fruits, bugs, fish, wood, ect. You then use those items to decorate your island and your home. This game is fun for any age.
