• Yes you need to charge the unit first by plugging it in. Yes you can use your phone charger.

• The instructions are there, sort of, just written in Englese. The USB-C is an input only, there are no wireless options on this product. Please charge before use. Lower powered chargers will take a while to charge; probably should do this overnight.
