As long as you choose the right eartips, it should cancel out about 85% (I say 85 because I don't want to over-exaggerate and say 99%) of the background noise. I hope this helps.

If you are asking if it blocks out outside sounds... yes they do. I usually only wear one ear bud because of this.

Noise isolation is great on your end, however if using for phone calls it tends to be a little distracting to the person on the other end. Pick ups every little noise around you.
