No. We had this at work for our server. The battery backup needs to be a special one if using with a generator. We had to buy one that was around $2500 to make it work and protect the components of the server.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is really a question for APC. How the UPS responds depends on the power quality from the generator. The UPS could trigger battery mode if the generator power quality is poor. Having said that, the UPS may help to clean up the power from the generator. In past power outages I have used my generator to charge batteries. Never given the THD level a thought but, my generator has a low (<5%) THD rating and with over 100 hours of use hasn't zapped anything.
