• This is an indication that the UPS has an internal fault. You need to contact APC for further details on what to do. The UPS is not working right.

• In my case it was due to the battery not holding enough charge. Time to replace the battery. You can try to unplug it and plug it back in after 45 seconds to restart. It should work. If the problem persists try replacing the battery.

• Is yours a new purchase? Small units such as these often must be fully charged before use. Check your manual. If that is the case, charge completely before use. Them you should only hear an alarm when your home power goes out, and you should only see the red light if there is a wiring fault.
