It is 1000 watt hours or 1Kwh. The power draw is limited by the circuit breaker, which I think is 15amps, so should be able to do 12 amps steady until the battery is too weak. 12 amps at 120vac is 1,440 watts. You might last 1:25 hours at 720 watts draw. The idea is you are working, and don't want to lose what you are working on, on this computer. When the power goes out, it keeps you up for enough time to save your work before you lose power completely, or finish something that you worked on for 4 hours and are about to have to start over....

The 600w would be for the battery side outlets so if you have equipment like your peripherals that pull a little bit more power I would plug them into the surge only side. They wouldn't have the battery protection but they would still have surge protections.
