QuestionAfter a storm last week our Back-up System (as shown above) beeped and beeped. We unplugged it and hit reset, but it does not light up when plugged in. Any advice? Thanks for your help.

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with our unit. I would try disconnecting all the equipment from the unit, disconnect the power cord then the internal battery. While these are disconnected try holding the power button for around 10 seconds. Reverse the instructions to power the unit back on. If the unit is still having issue please out to an APCbySchneider support team for further assistance. QuestionI plan on using this as back up power for a 30 watt aquarium filter. I’m guessing I’ll be able to get close to 90 mins runtime?

- Answer I have this on my aquarium drawing 20 watts and the expected run time is 160 minutes so you should be good

QuestionWill this unit withstand more than (1) surge (ex. electrical storm), and is there a way to determine if a surge has exceeded it's protection limit and rendered it inoperable?

- Answer Thank you for the interest in our products. If the surge were to take a large enough surge that it can't shunt it ground the unit will sacrifice itself to prevent damage to the connected equipment. The protection working LED will turn off on the unit as well if the unit is no longer able to take a surge.

QuestionCan I plug a separate surge protector power strip into one of these plugs? I ask because I don't believe all of my plugs will fit due to the outlet placement on this and the size of the plugs. I don't plan to exceed the number of plugs.

QuestionExactly how long will this back up an internet modem which is the source of our telephone landline? Also a nebulizer?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The runtime would depend on how much power the equipment draws. The modem likely wouldn't pull that much but the nebulizer may pull a bit of power. I would just confirm how much power the unit draws. At half load (300 Watts) you would get around 13.5 minutes of runtime. At full load (600 Watts) you would get around 4.3 minutes of runtime.

QuestionIf you fully charge this battery backup (APC)Pro1000VA can you unplug it from the wall, take it in your car and have up to 12 maybe less hours of battery use, not plugged in.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately you likely would not get 12 hours of runtime if the unit isn't plugged back into utility. If it is just the unit itself you would get around 5 hours of runtime. Also we recommend leaving the unit connected to utility so it will continue to keep charged. If you disconnect from utility and let the battery discharge multiple times it will shorten the lifespan of the UPS.

QuestionIs this capable of functioning as a backup battery for CPAP use?

- Answer Yes you could use this as a backup battery for your Cpap machine. I looked up a Cpap and it uses about 57 VA. This unit is 1000 VA at 120VAC so this could give you about 17.5 minutes of backup power. Now if your concerned about short power outages to keep your Cpap running during this type of issue this unit would work well.

- Answer I'm sure you could however, When you run off of the units battery power it beeps every 15 to 20 seconds to alert you to a loss of power. Those sitting around you on a plane might not like that for an extended period of time.

QuestionWill this “clean” my GFCI circuit allowing me to plug in a garage freezer into a GFCI outlet? I am getting nuisance outages that are tripping the circuit?

- Answer I don't think a UPS will help for a GFCI tripping. There's something on the circuit that the GFCI is powering that's causing the trip. Usually it's moisture getting into/onto the plug, or it could be moisture getting in the contacts somewhere in the freezer. I'm guessing your freezer is in the garage, or on a back porch - both areas can see enough humidity in the air to trip the GFCI. The UPS will filter (clean) the power going to the freezer, but I don't think it will filter any feedback coming from the freezer to the GFCI. My suggestion is - first, try to find the source of the moisture (could even be insects). If it all seems to be dry, I would replace the GFCI with a normal (non-GFCI) receptacle.

- Answer It depends on how much power the laptop and cell phone uses. I would not connect this to a laptop or cell phone or use this to charge batteries. Use it to keep devices that have no battery running during a short power outage. Your cell phone and laptop should be plugged into the surge suppressor side which does not use the battery backup, unless you really n need it. This way all your batteries are kept charged.

QuestionI have 2 questions; 1: Can I get ethernet to my computer by going from modem to UPS to PC? I saw the UPS has a network in/out. 2: Can the UPS work as a powerline adapter? Or can it only get internet through the network in/out?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The Ethernet ports on the back of the UPS would just provide surge protection for the Ethernet cable line. I wouldn't provide power to the Ethernet connection so you could use Power over Ethernet.

- Answer Yes, it comes with one 12 volt battery that is replaceable. Your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer on the usage with a lithium battery.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The BX1000M-LM60 would require 120V input power. In regards to the step down transformer it really depends on what kind of power it outputs. If it output a clean 120V at 60hz the UPS should function fine. However if the output power from the transformer is dirty then there is a chance the UPS would get stuck on battery the entire time.

- Answer Yes, but not sure how much power such a recliner requires, so only you can tell how long it would power it after power goes out. It would protect any sensitive electronics in your power recliner, however power recliners usually do not have sensitive electronics.
