Q: Questioncan this battery runs Security cameras systems
Asked by Jamroc.
- A:Answer It depends. You must read the labels on all your equipment and add up the combined loads to determine whether this (or any other) UPS device can support that combination.

Q: QuestionWill this unit work for a sump pump back battery back up?
Asked by Sumbackup123.
- A:Answer No way. This UPS unit can run a 27in monitor and desktop computer together for about 10-15min before the battery discharges. It designed for electronics, not appliances or anything with a motor (a sump pump). A sump pump draws current way beyond what this little unit can handle. Home improvement stores sell battery-operated back up setups for sump pumps. They're in the $200-$500 range but that is cheap when compared to installing a full-size backup generator that costs thousands, excluding electrician installation costs.

Q: QuestionI use a regular desktop computer for my CNC machine and have had issues with what I think is power fluctuations in the power lines. I have noticed lights flickering but doesnt reset the computer. Will this UPS prevent these power fluctuations?
Asked by Stacey.
- A:Answer This would protect your computer from the fluctuations you see and don’t see. I highly advise that all computers be connected to a surge protector/battery backup like this.

Q: QuestionI’m trying to figure out a little more on this UPS. If I have a device pulling 300W on a 1,000 VA UPS what’s my battery time? If I have a separate device pulling 240W on a 1,000VA UPS what’s my battery time? Thank you in advance for answering me!
Asked by Jay.
- A:Answer 300W would be about 6 minutes and 240W between 8 and 9 minutes. If on the same UPS, less than 2 minutes.

Q: QuestionWill this work on Brownouts?
Asked by Nick.
- A:Answer Yes if you match the brown out voltage you want to protect against. Runs on battery as long as brown out. If extended duration, battery runs down and load shuts down. For extended brown outs, a varable transformer or variac may be needed, but much more expensive.

Q: QuestionI’m trying to grasp an understanding of power output to battery backup life. I have a 32ch DVR system that’s pulling 300W & a 18ch 20A 12V Power panel to power cameras if I’m not mistaken is pulling 240W How long would this battery keep my cameras up?
Asked by Jay.
- A:Answer Doing simple marh, the real power is about 600 watts but your power factor may not be 100%. So duration should be about 10 minutes. Since you don't appear to have a controlling computer, you need a strategy when the battery runs down. Computers shut down at a preset battery condition, so you may want to over design the worst case power fault condition.

Q: QuestionHow are we supposed to use all the outlets where there is no room for typical modem and router box plugs? if you don't work for APC, don't answer the question.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately this specific UPS does not have the transformer blocks outlet that would have more space for power plugs that use a transformer plug. I will pass along your feedback though about the lack of spacing available on this unit though. We do have alternate models available that have outlets that have larger spacing for transformer block plugs.
