• A:Answer Short answer, yes, but only the first generation Apple Pencil. Longer answer. The first generation Apple Pencil can be used STARTING with the sixth generation iPad (which I think is the 2018 model). The second generation Apple Pencil can ONLY be used with the iPad Pro.
