I assume open box means it possibly was on display in the store. I don’t think it would be used. I’m pretty sure they would have to indicate used in the description if it was a used iPad. As far as open box goes, if you don’t click on and choose open box, yours will not be one from an open box. If it isn’t open box, the box will be completely sealed in plastic when you get it.

Best Buy does still honor manufacturer warranty. Products are suppose to be checked to make sure there are no missing parts and still works.
