• Hold down the button on the upper right for a few sevonds Then swipe the slide to power off that appears

• In the settings menu there’s a spot where you can set how long the iPad will stay on before it goes to sleep mode. It uses very little power in sleep mode. If you need to actually turn it off, normally you’d hold down the power button for several seconds to completely shut it down. It operates just like an iPhone in these regards.
