It just means its WIFI ready, so your signal can automatically come to your IPAD without a direct connection. I feel the same, just happened to know this one…yeah me..lol

Please try again later.your ipad requires wifi in order to get on the internet, use imessage, receive calls as well as calling others, and anything else that requires you having to use wifi. other than that, if you want to be able to use your ipad when/wherever, you’ll need to get cellular too
