“I just bought this to replace my iPad Air 2 (2014) the touch of the screen sounds and feel like plastic not a glass screen.. is the screen plastic .. it’s sounds like a cheap plastic”

To answer your question, no, it is not plastic. What you feel is the fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating that Apple applies to reduce smudging. The reason why it may feel more plasticky is because it is a lower quality glass if you want the better quality glass you have to step up to the pro level iPads. This is the same situation with the aluminum body Apple watches and the stainless steel body Apple watches the aluminum body Apple watches come with an ion X glass while the stainless steel body Apple watches come with a sapphire crystal glass.
