Is this iPad good for a college student null

It's perfect, but the student would need Wi-Fi to use it. I prefer the database version because it can be used anytime without Wi-Fi. The first iPad I owned had a data plan, which I gave to my son for college. I bought this one thinking it has data access Which does not.
