Yes especially using an apple pencil.

If you cannot afford the Apple Pencil 2, there is an affordable option that is a similar writing experience. When using my old iPad Pro to take notes, I didn’t enjoy the slick screen. Adding a matte screen protector made the writing experience feel more natural and like paper. I use two note taking apps: notability and good notes 5. Both have their pros and cons. There are many YouTube videos illustrating the differences, I’d recommend watching a few. They do cost $10 each (I know notability does, I forgot the other’s price) but it is worth the investment. They have been a life saver through college and I purchased this one for graduate school. Typing is also very fluid. Although if you plan to type a lot using this iPad, I’d recommend sizing up or getting a Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard size is more compact and may be an issue for those who have larger hands. I personally have small hands so this does not pose a problem for me, but I am the exception.
