Does it have inbuilt GPS available? null

maps knows where you are so I assume it has GPS

Only if you buy a version with cellular capability. WiFi only models don't have GPS. You might be able to get an external GPS receiver or piggyback on a hotspot that has GPS, but if you get a WiFi only iPad it does not have GPS capabilities.
