As fantastic as the iPad Pro is, if you do serious design perhaps you should get the computer-like MacBook Pro or MacBook Air for speed, filing, etc. I think it depends on the type of design, like CADD vs free-hand. The Air is no heavier than the iPad with its cover/stand necessary for portability, but only the iPad has a touchscreen!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as you understand that this is not a Mac, you can do quite a bit. The iPad Pro can do graphic design via Affinity and Procreate apps. Also, Adobe is launching new apps this year for the iPad specifically. This is a great compliment to your Macbook. If you are looking for a device that can work as both...I recommend the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 or Surface Book 2.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There’s this really good app for that. It’s called lumafusion. It’s 20.00$ on the AppStore but it’s totally worth that rather than buying another device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I love the iPad pros, have had a gen one since they launched and just upgraded to the Gen 3. I have never had an issue editing photos on the pro, I have an adobe account and use all their apps easily. As for graphic design, I would check what apps are available (pro create is nice) and the pencil is nice as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By all means you can do some incredible image editing using Affinity Photo... I've relied on this full featured challenger of Photoshop for several years. I used to be a Photoshop power user and once I started using Affinity on the Mac and now iPad I have never looked back. IGNORE the person who was recommending the Surface. This iPad Pro is a workhorse, and can do a remarkable job on exactly what you need.
