• I connect my Sansdisk extreme pro portable external usb my iPad Air 13 and was able to transfer files back and forth including pictures, pdf, etc.

• I have not tried to copy pictures, but I did buy an adapter so I can use headphones on the port. you can check the internet and see if an adapter is available for transferring pictures.
