Yes and no. It charges by putting the pencil on the side of the iPad and uses magnets to hold it in place and charge the pencil. You could keep it there as storage but I found that it falls off easily. I bought a holder that sticks to the keyboard case I bought and it’s much more secure. I have found that the pencil will lose charge in a very short time but I just recharge it before I plan to use it.
