• You can actually use the Remote app on your iPhone to control ITunes play and volume on the iMac.

• UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS ANSWER: When I bought this computer, it had macOS Sierra installed. At that time, the Bluetooth media remote I purchased controlled l both the play/pause and volume in DVD Player and iTunes. I recently updated to High Sierra and now the remote only controls the volume in DVD player. It continues to control play/pause as well as volume in iTunes.

• This computer does not have an infrared sensor and therefore will not work with an Apple remote.. You can purchase a third party Bluetooth media remote that will work.
