A new one, with an upgraded processor and possibly an 8K resolution monitor is due (overdue?) and is widely anticipated for sometime in 2019, but I have not seen any reliable information or guesswork about when it will actually be released. The MAC Mini is more current (2018), though, of course, it requires a separate monitor. I just bought a new 21.5" IMAC with 4K monitor to replace a perfectly functional early 2009 24" IMAC that can no longer get OS upgrades from Apple (El Capitan is latest OS Apple will download and support for early 2009 units), and as a result, will not run the 2018 version of Turbo Tax anymore! (My guess is this applies to a lot of other software.) I understand the late 2009 IMAC can still be upgraded to the Sierra OS, but it is just a matter of time before Apple considers the late 2009 machines "obsolete", as they have now designated my early 2009 computer, which will end their operating system upgrades. (If you have not done so already, you can check your model by clicking on top left hand corner tab, and then choosing "About This MAC.") On the brighter side, this "new" IMAC is a LOT faster. Note also that the new IMAC does not come with an integrated optical (CD-ROM) drive, so if you get one, budget a few extra bucks for an external drive.
