Yes. But you might be able to trace it if it still has some energy in it so it can connect to your cell phone in case you haven't lost it over 4-5 hours. If you like to do sports then buy the Powerbeats one, but if you don't exercise a lot then I would recommend you this one.

You can use just one. I think Apple has a way to order replacements but I don’t know if you can buy just one at this time.

Pretty much. That was my concern. Best Buy and Apple are not offering a protection package that covers loss. My check with renters or homeowners insurance to see if they could be covered. The unit can operate with one bud, but that would defeat the purpose of having two
