We have two separate versions of AirPods in our household. I have noticed that my wife (who has these AirPods) is able to see the light even with a case on her AirPods, whereas I cannot do so with mine.
While I cannot speak to the intended design decisions, perhaps this is why!

A:AnswerIt’s a Bluetooth device so if your tv has Bluetooth capability then you should be able to I have friends that have a android and use AirPods on there phone so I do see why not
A:AnswerIt does cover it as long as you purchase the plan to go with it for a certain amount a month, or go into your settings when you connect the item to your phone and purchase apple care
