The 4 month promo code was sent to the email that the order was purchased under. Ask your son to check his email for the code.

You should have a code that you can redeem. If you have that code then go your music app look for the heart button that says “for you” at the bottom. Click the account icon button on the upper right corner. It should bring up a list and the first one says “redeem gift card or code.” Then follows the rest of the steps.
