• Yes, and you can get AppleCare for it. While I usually recommend not getting extended warranties, AppleCare is the exception.

• Yes, they honor the original warranty. Battery life is dependent on what you’re doing. Web surfing, playing music and word document processing generally will give me around 10-14 hours of continuous use. No real way to predict what you will get.
