“I'm looking to purchase the latest generation 9.7 I pad, 128th with Wi-Fi only. Is there an actual button to press as the home button. I've had 2 iPad mini and in both cases the pressed home button sank in.”

Yes there is a home button to push and it’s very easy to push. Don’t push it to hard . If you have the same problem you should call apple to get it fixed. I never had that problem and I had pretty many Apple products with the home button. I really love my ipad 9.7 128 GB latest generation. I hope this helps
