The base model provides 32GB of storage and honestly should be enough. You can use iCloud to store your original photos and really optimize the small drive space it provides. Just bought it for my wife and she loves it. You can likely use a phone as a hotspot and avoid setting up cellular on it, so just the wifi should suffice.
