• On your old iPad, go to "Settings > General> and select "Transfer or Reset iPad". Very easy, but get your new iPad first. Then you will transfer all your old data to your new iPad. Apple has a migration program to walk you through this. Then, when you are running on your new iPad, reset the old one and trade it in.

• Well, is safe for you do the transfer of all the information first and then restore the old one. You only need to go to settings , general, scroll down , reset; erase all content and thats it.
