• A:Answer You can purchase it unlocked as I did and mine cam with a Verizon sim but all you have to do is remove that sim and put in your own or transfer your number through your carrier to the e-sim and use a secondary physical sim for a dual sim phone....

• A:Answer An unlocked phone allows you to go from carrier to carrier by just changing the sim card. If the phone is locked, the carrier has to unlock it before you can change carriers and this can take days. Locked phones have always been a deterrent from changing your carrier. If you purchase/upgrade your phone through your carrier you cannot get an unlocked phone. These are sold through stores like Best Buy.
