It usually have service when you get your phone. And bill or payment world should show on your next billing cycle

The phone comes with the Verizon SIM card (if that’s the carrier you requested). Best Buy employee will install and ask some questions to hook up to your Verizon account. There was a $20.00 service fee that Verizon charged for us. We’ve been with them for years so no upgrade fee for us. If you have fees it’s charged to your Verizon account. Best Buy employee will also transfer all your information off your old phone to the new one if needed. The process works very well. Love the phone!
