Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Verizon also, and I think you have to go through Verizon to make the last payment on your old device, but you can do that at anytime. I had paid mine off previously so when I went in to buy this iPhone I was able to upgrade and start a new device payment agreement even though it had only been about 12 months since I bought my last phone.
