A:Answeryou can get a virus but it is better than a pc, I don't have antivirus on my mac and I have had it for 5 years
don't download free music or free movies or other high-risk websites and you will be ok.
I'm a computer technician and all I use is mac for the past 7 years and wont go back to use pc's
A:AnswerYou can download the Microsoft office suite for free with most college emails! It depends on what school you're going to, but I would definitely check it out :)
A:AnswerI think you are mistaking RAM for hard drive size. 8 GB RAM is fine for most people that don't have memory intensive programs; you can run 6-8 programs at one time on it and it won't "lag". Storage space is what you are talking about on your daughter's iPad; this macbook air has minimum 128GB of hard drive and goes up from there (of course so does the price).
A:AnswerAs an RN myself, I can tell you that this will be helpful in your studies. Its compact and it is not heavy at all. You want something reliable, and apple is definitely one of the more reliable brands. I would definitely recommend. Good luck!
A:AnswerI would go to your nearest Best Buy store and look at both computers in person but the the differences are the Pro has a better screen then the Air. Also the Pro model comes with a Touch Bar on the keyboard pad, I wanna say the trackpad is little bigger then the Air, The Air has the Megsafe charging, 2 USB ports, 1 USB-C port, SD card reader, where the Pro model only has 2 USB-C ports. My suggestion is if you just use it for email and surfing definitely save you bucks and get the Air model. But first go and check them out in person to see which one is right for you. Good Luck...
A:AnswerThe MacBook Air DOES have a full-size SD card reader (which will also read microSD cards provided you have an adapter, which many microSD cards come with). You are correct in that it does not come with an optical (DVD) drive. Most laptops these days have phased out optical drives in favor of being thinner and lighter, and these drives are generally only found on entry-level machines, or really high-end but bulky laptops. None of Apple's laptops offer a built-in optical drive, but if it's really that important to you, you can buy an external DVD drive.
As far as if this will cause any problems or lead to any inconveniences, probably not. Your daughter won't be able to watch DVDs on this Mac out-of-the-box, but will be able to use the SD card reader (such as if transferring photos from a camera). Most software these days is downloaded from the internet, so not having a DVD drive shouldn't be an issue there. I'd recommend using a USB flash drive for external storage anyway, and this laptop does have 2 regular USB ports.
A:AnswerI have had the iPad Pro they have very similar features but the MacBook Air I find is easier to do many things on such as school work. It also had the full operating system instead of the mobile version which I find to be better as well
A:AnswerI am a full time student also and 70% of our work is online, buying the 128 g and 8 g ram is more than enough, if u only gonna use it for school..
