Your apple mouse should be good! Any bluetooth devices should be able to pair so long as they're supported by macOS and your technician should be able to see any applications that aren't supported anymore. There is one caveat that some devices may require adapters, or my preference is to instead use a Dock to plug things like cameras and other peripherals in at home.
