- Answer The Macbook pro is the high-end model of the Mac laptop line. 'Better' is relative, the Pro has faster and bigger everything, but that's only better if you need the capability for some reason. If you are just watching movies, surfing the web, and doing homework, the Air is just fine. If you are editing graphics/movies or running multiple Virtual Machines, the the Pro is what you would need.

Once you sign up, you can use the current student deals. They provide instructions on the page on how to do so. Right now, certain MacBook Pros are $50 off.

- Answer I bought this computer, more or less, two days prior to Thanksgiving day (so basically 3 weeks now) I asked the very same question, sadly there wasn't a student discount for this laptop. It is a very good computer, though. Has exceeded my expectations! If you decide to purchase it I would recommend that you get a USB-A to USB-C adapter since this computer only has two USB-C ports and (in the case that you get the 121 GB model) an external hard drive would come in handy.
  I would recommend:
  - Platinum™ - USB Type-C-to-USB Adapter - White
