I have a Mac Pro and I don’t have a regular USB port. I think that’s what it’s called. Can I put this into the computer or do I need an adapter? Then how does it pick up thee signal for my iPad Pro? Hope this makes sens null

The unit comes with USB-C to Lighting Cable, so you're good. And if you have Bluetooth with your IPAD Pro,  you're good for using the Magic Mouse.

You don’t need USB port. Apple stop using USB ports long time ago. Both, your Mac Pro and iPad would read the mouse through Bluetooth.
