“my mac is saying the mouse and tracking are not connected. Do I need to get a new mouse? I shut down and rebooted and still the same thing. Can't do anything. Batteries have been changed.”

This is what happened to us…our Mac is old and the mouse quit working. We tried changing the batteries and rebooting also but it still didn’t work. We tested the new mouse and it worked so we ended up buying a new mouse and haven’t had any issues as of today.
