Yes. That is what I got it for, and it works great.

Probably not. The converter adapts older power chargers with MacSafe (L style) tips to use on newer MacSafe 2 (T style) MacBook Air or Pro. You are trying to use a newer charger on an older MacBook Pro.

Yes. That's why I bought mine, and I am using it right now to convert my old LShaped adapter to a Mag2.
