• Yes, you can use this pencil for your iPad Pro 3rd gen. You charge it by placing the pencil on the left or right side of the iPad. There are magnets on that side of the iPad and there are magnets in the pencil that will charge them as they come together.

• Yea the 2nd Gen should work according to the Apple website. Your iPad should have a magnetic strip on the right side that the pencil attaches to in order to charge. I’m not 100% sure your iPad has it but you can tell by just looking at it.
