“Is this pencil compatible with the new generation of iPads which are not necessarily iPad Pro? I know they are stylus compatible, just not sure about the magnetic attachment ability and the wireless charging.”

Surprising that there is no update to this question beyond a year ago. Yes, the 2nd gen pencil works with the latest iPad Air. Go to Apple's own support page here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211029

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, the new 2nd Gen Apple Pencil ($129) only works with the new iPad Pros. The older Apple Pencil ($99) works with the smaller, non-iPad from early 2018 (6th gen) and the 10.5" iPad Pro (or other iPad Pro models on clearance).
