• Yes you can use this remote on the original Apple TV 4K. You probably can also use the original remote on the 2nd gen, if that’s what you’re asking.

• Yes, Although - you can only pair ONE remote to an Apple TV. So your original remote is useless after you pair the new one.

• Yes, I didn’t like the first gen remote and ordered this one as soon as it was available for preorder. I think this is a big improvement over the previous remote, Just follow the instructions to pair the device. One can only have one remote attached to the Apple TV so if your looking for his/hers remote it’s not going to happen.
