This remote is waaaaay better than Apple's previous remote (the glossy, slim, black one) for the Apple TV. It feels more like a remote due to the design and weight. Buttons are very reponsive. A must for any ATV owners without it.

This is what the remote should have been from the start. I HATED the remote that came with our Apple TV immediately! We got the remote from Function 101 which was an improvement but was missing a button which made it difficult for quickly connecting headphones. It also didn't have voice control but I don't care about that. This new remote is awesome! Thicker and easier to handle. You can turn off the touch which was horrible on the old Apple remote.

Purchased as a backup for our remote. It works good, as does our original remote.

Love the updated Siri remote over the standard AppleTV remote! Having a dedicated power button, mute button, and updated track pad. This remote is a huge improvement. It was so easy to use it connected to my Apple 4k TV box right out of it's package.

The Siri Remote is a great improvement over the original.

Love it, but I wish Apply didn’t put the buttons in a different spot. I was so accustomed to the previous remote, now when I pause, I’m pressing the other button instead. The battery life is good, I haven’t charged it since I bought it.

Excellent remote, love the added power button. makes life much easier only needing one remote to operate tv and apple tv.

We spilled water on the remote that came with our Apple TV and this remote is just like the one we ruined and works well.

Huge upgrade from the last model. Our old remote shattered on the tile in the kitchen and this one was cheaper so we went with that. Works wonderfully.

The remote Apple should have made in the first place. Far easier to learn how to use than I expected. I've used the old remote for about a year, and expected this to have some kind of learning curve - not really. Just remember the mute button is where the play / pause button used to be. The remote is slightly fatter, has a rounded back, and squared off edges. The old remote was more comfortable to hold (and that's the only thing the old one did better). Still uses the silly Lightning cable to charge. Only one remote can be paired to an Apple TV at a time. That means, the old remote is useless once you pair this one. That old remote was such a pain, overshooting menu choices, not always working. This one just flat out does what it should. The round area at the top is the touch area. It is much more precise than the old remote. The four compass points around the circle are clickable - up, down, left, right - one position on the screen. I find that swiping on this remote is super precise, and works every time. The Siri button moved to the side, a good place for something I never used. The new power button is fine. Everything still powers on if you press any button. I guess it is slightly easier to power off everything compared to holding down the little square home button, and clicking sleep all. I did have one very annoying problem. I have a soundbar. The remote would randomly turn my television back on. Essentially there was no way to turn off my system. An hour with Apple support and it turned out I had to reboot my soundbar and the Apple TV. The problem came back after the most recent Apple TV OS update. Power cycling both the soundbar and the Apple TV fixed the problem. Sorry, I can't say if you've set up custom volume control for your sound system, that the new remote will inherit that function.

Apple TV is my go to steaming device. I own two of them. I prefer it over my Roku and Firestick. However, the remote control for the Apple TV is awful. The touchpad is hyper sensitive. I have to be careful whenever I pick it up, because the slightest, and I mean slightest touch of the touchpad, and screen gets paused, stopped, rewound, forwarded. Most of that problems have been resolved with this latest iteration. The Siri remote still has the touchpad, but now it’s surrounded by the silver ring, reminiscent of the first gen remote. Control is slightly better, and I have fewer ill effects from an inadvertent graze of the touchpad. This remote feels sturdy, and well built. It’s considerably heftier than its prior version; and it’s good to see the 1st gen, silver color make a reappearance. Apple added new buttons and removed/replaced some. The Menu button has been replaced by a Back button (which does exactly the same thing as its predecessor). A Mute button has been added and placed where the Play/Pause button used to be. The microphone button was moved to the side of the remote, and replaced with the Play/Pause button. This remote still isn’t perfect, but it’s a whole lot better than it used to be. I gave it four stars, because I think the price point is way too high. Apple must have realized how terrible their last remote was, and figured people would be willing to fork over big money in order to not have to deal with their last goof up. Well, in my case, they were right.

Great replacement controller if you have the black one that has the large touch pad. This is much better, tactile feel and easier to use and control. You can still use the middle section for a touchpad or turn it off completely. Priced a bit higher than it should be.

Bought this remote for my girlfriend since her 4th gen apple tv remote got lost. She LOVES this one compared to the newer one. The battery is still going after one WHOLE month of continuous use and works better than the newer gen remote. Definitely a thumbs up considering this was a refurbished, higher quality feeling and overall BETTER remote. 10/10 recommended.

Glad Apple updated it, I hated the previous Siri Remote. The touch pad was so imprecise and sloppy. The buttons were all mushy as well. This remote fixed all that. The buttons click nicely, the option to use the directional buttons or the touch pad in the middle is a nice little addition. The placement of the Siri button works well, and the mute button is a welcome addition. The build quality is fantastic, it’s weighty without being heavy.

Great build. Improvement with actual power button. I prefer having having the ability to click and choose with the directional arrows as well as scan with the thumb pad. Previous version did not have that option. Thought it made stopping on program choices sometimes cumbersome. Nice solid feel in hand. I replaced all of my old Apple TVs remotes with the new models. Would recommend.

Purchased this remote to replace the previous model Apple TV remote which was a pain to use. A much better design the functions better. I'm not sure what Apple was thinking with the previous remote and I'm not pleased with spending additional money to overcome their poor design.

Just love this remote.....it is the one that should have originally come with my ATV 4K. The old remote frustrated the heck out of me (and the wife refused to use it) and when I read several reviews on the new, updated ATV 4K that said if you had the previous gen, you really only needed to get the new remote as the rest of the 'upgrades' weren't enough, otherwise, to spend the money. Glad I got this remote...it just plain works and makes things sooooo much easier to control, especially rolling backwards and forwards while watching movies. Also, the size it much better, too. Overall, a great purchase and worth the money if you have the previous gen ATV 4K. You won't be sorry! (PS: BB was super fast sending it out, too, and it was well packaged!).
