Original remote did not work at all. I was able to return and exchange it for new Apple remote which worked fine. Using the command buttons on this remote is much easier and nicer to use compared to the earlier version of this remote.

My other remote that has the glass top was completely wrecked, Who thought of that? this one is much nicer.

Already have the newest Apple TV with the new remote and love it so much that I bought a remote to go with the last generation Apple TV. The original remote is hard to hold and use but the new design is larger, easier to hold and works perfectly. I would recommend that everyone replace the older and thin remote with this remote that is what it should have been in the first place.

Better than the previous gen remote. Feels solid. So far happy with the purchase. Though it is not straightforward, it is fairly easy to connect. 1. Be very close to the unit. Hold the remote near the actual Apple TV unit. 2. Hold the “up” button on the circular pad and the back button (a total of 2 buttons) for 2-3 seconds. The Apple TV will recognize it immediately and you’re done.

I really didn't like the previous generation of this remote. It was a lot harder to do basic stuff with my Apple TV. This updated remote fixes many of the problems, and I love how the top button can be used both to scroll with your finger and to have physical presses. I would definitely recommend whether you have the previous Apple TV 4k or the latest one.

Love the new remote, they’re more durable than the old ones.

The new Siri remote is way cool! I ended up purchasing the new Apple TV and did research to see that there wasn’t enough of an update to keep it, but I loved the remote. Works perfectly fine with the previous Apple TV 4K. Also I love the meta casing. I liked the old black one, but I was afraid of it cracking or scratching. This baby seems to be heavy duty!

Great upgrade for the Siri Remote, very handy and works great!

Huge upgrade to the previous black remote that came with all the Apple TV models. Much easier to navigate, much better sensitivity, far less incorrect clicks with the "handle" area ad better placement for the voice button. The added power button is nice depending upon how you integrate all your audio/video devices as well.

Purchased solo as the original remote got water damaged. Great device and better design than previous models. - they added a power button. Amazing. - doesn’t require a bumper or case like the black remotes (to ensure you can pick it up without touching the pad)

I received my new remote yesterday and it’s the best of both worlds! It synced itself when I hit the power button. It immediately worked my tv and Apple TV perfectly. The remote is a little bigger and heavier than the other version but I think that’s good, it makes it feel more substantial. Highly recommend!

This remote is such a big improvement over the previous Siri remotes. Having the dedicated curls pad versus the swipe touch pad of the last gen remote is so much better. Also this remote has a mute button! I had previously purchased a universal remote to have better mute options it

The best way I can illustrate how nice this remote is (particularly compared to the previous one) is that after getting this for Christmas, my 58 year old mother actually started using her Apple TV. Simple, easy to use, built well, priced well. No complaints.

While far from perfect, it’s about time Apple provided a decently useful controller. The previous controller was the most frustrating and useless piece of junk. The touchpad never worked properly, was too sensitive and lacked functionality. Apple just got too cute and tried to express their conceived superiority in design. The old controller failed miserably. This one is solid, it’s much more functional and useful. Make sure to upgrade the software/firmware to the latest version or it won’t sync.
