A move in the right direction. It’s a good remote for home entertainment control. It’s of good size and girth, so it no longer falls through the cracks in the sofa. When it does get thrown to the floor from a blanket shift, it makes a resounding thud so it’s much easier to locate. Also much less prone to accidental touch control. Overall a vast improvement over the older erroneous model remote.

This remote is the one the original AppleTV should have come with. It’s bigger, has a scroll wheel and power button. On older AppleTVs it can be a little laggy. But very satisfied with this design.

I’m so glad they sell the remotes only. I accidentally washed my original remote. I ordered this one and it works even better than my original one.

This Apple TV remote replaced the one that came with my old Apple TV. What a difference. Navigation is much easier, battery life seems to last long, and because it's bigger, it's easier to hold.

I bought this to replace the earlier remote. This new remote is easier to use and it is also a little larger and much heavier. It also appears to be built better than the original older version.

The redesigned Apple TV remote is made out of aluminum and has a much higher quality feel than the standard plastic remotes that are included with most other devices. The battery seems to last forever! I just need to plug in the lightning charging cable once in a while and I’m good again for what seems like months! I really like this remote compared to the original touchpad one that came with my first generation Apple TV 4K. I think it’s a little expensive though for a remote but it’s an Apple product with good build quality.

This design is much better than the original remote. Easier to use. The remote is large which make it easier to use. The push wheel make navigating easier.

Good solid replacement for the black swipe only model. The unit is a bit slippery with the silver finish but still more comfortable to hold and use. The addition of the power button is great. Given you have a fairly modern system, you can hold down the power button for 6 seconds and turn off your tv, receiver and ATV.

Much improved remote from the black one that came with my Apple TV 4K. The track pad takes a little getting used to though. If you're frustrated with the old remote, this is worth getting.

Purchased to replace old styled remote. This remote is much easier to understand than the standard one that comes with older Apple TV's. Since purchasing guests have no problem using my apple TV

I bought this because my original apple tv remote broke, so I figured why not get the newest one, not expecting much difference. Wow, i was wrong. Way easier to control, sensitivity is just right, it does what it's told right when you do it. No more lag, mashing the button a few times, tapping the touchpad expecting one thing, but you off by 1mm and it does something else. I plan on ordering more to replace all my apple tv remotes with this one.

A bit pricey for something that should be included with Apple TV box. Battery charge is about double of smaller remotes.
