This is definitely the remote that Apple should have made when they made the original Siri Remote for the Apple TV 4. It's much more solid in the hand, nowhere near as fragile, and the dedicated TV power button and side-mounted Siri button fit in much better than with the older design. I could even say it's the remote Apple should have made with the Apple TV 1, 2, and 3, as it's also much more substantial than the original plastic and aluminum remotes from 2006 and 2010, respectively. The only problem is no remote finder feature, but that would also be difficult to use as the Apple TV units themselves have no buttons on them.

Bought as replacement for older non-Siri remote. Newer remote synced easily and feels way better than original. Pleased with the purchase.

Anyone who has tried to make the original Apple TV remote function smoothly and effectively will roll over, throw their paws up in applause and yowl with delight when they get their hands on this remote that should have come with the device. Apple has become such an epitome of functionality that users of the two devices will be dumbfounded that these trusted folks didn't provide us this device from the outset. But enough lamentation: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I could kiss you on your remote lips.

Bought as an upgrade to the remote for my Apple TV HD (4th gen). That Apple TV had the black remote which was great, but after we upgraded our living room and bedroom Apple TVs, and I moved one of the old HD versions to my office I got so accustomed to using the new remote that I'd fumble when I was using the old black one. When I'm trying to multitask and pause my TV while answering a phone call, I need to be sure I'm hitting the right button. It linked right up as soon as I went into settings in the apple menu and its worked flawlessly, as if it originally came with the ATV unit itself.

I’ve been an Apple TV user for a very long time, and have always been pretty frustrated by the remotes. But this one has a good feel, works much better, and won’t get you hung up on the scroll wheel thing.

Huge upgrade over the original controller. Old controller looked like an ancient iPod, while this looks like a high quality cutting edge controller.

Fits well in my hand and the trackpad is the right size. I like the button placements. Much better design than the previous model.

It is awesome especially if you use Apple TV on a daily basis, especially with all the upgrades that Apple does on their devices.

Fantastic upgrade from the previous design. I have broken the glass on a few of the former design remotes, and feel comfortable with a lesser chance of failure. The manual directional pad is perfect for technologically challenged individuals, or those with large fingers. I can finally control my entire media center with this remote, and it has eliminated the need for my (somewhat complicated) harmony remotes. One request for a future upgrade: I wish it had a feature to locate the remote or make a noise when it gets lost.

Easy to install with a year old Apple TV and a Vizio TV. Nice improvement over the previous remote. Easier to use and nice to have the power button.

Purchased this remote to replace the one I have for an older Apple Tv unit. Because it has a mute button and a "dial" button. Easier to use.

This remote makes Apple TV worth it. I loved my Apple TV despite it being bundled with the touchpad remote. I could barely choose the app that I’d intended. I also tried the previous remote. Slim. Small buttons. Nonsensical buttons. And with that terrible remote, I loved my Apple TV. I just bought this remote for the same Apple TV, and this is the first time that I can navigate without much thought. It’s easier than the Roku remote. It feels good in your hand. And you can enjoy the best of Apple TV without using half of your attention on how to touch their prior models.

Finally Apple came out with a better bigger remote for Apple TV. Feels better in the hand. Function better. Just a all around better remote. Thank you Apple.

Best remote update dor your old apple tv HD. Easy to operate and feel nice and sturdy in the hand , than the slippery old one

This one is awesome! Great size and easy to use. Also like the fact it is sturdier than the second version that I dropped and broke : (

This apple tv remote is great! I bought another to replace one that got lost (still missing too). The only thing is its really slippery, and can easily slip between couch cushions. I bought a cover for mine, which Best Buy also sells, and now it doesnt do that as easily. The newer version of this remote charges via USB-C which i like better, but this one uses a lightning cabke which is totally fine. The battery lasts a long time too!

Solid build, work well - easy to connect. Having a little trouble with working with Roku Streambar but I’m sure it will be updated.

Love the new remote, clicked it in and everything worked. I was able to transfer my existing apps and passwords over to new Apple TV

Love it! Super easy to use and the shape is great to have in your hands. The battery is amazing last for months.
