How do you shut off the keyboard ? null

Just close it. It runs off the iPad.

You don’t. You could fold it under the iPad, I tried that as I use the iPad for reading. However, I didn’t like doing that and I found I preferred reading with the iPad at the upright angle. Also it was nice to have the keyboard there for when I stopped reading to double check emails, correspondence, etc. It took me a couple days to acclimate, but I love it and wouldn’t change anything.
