Possibly, but you may have Wi-Fi issues. Reset your modem and router or consider a new router if you have an old one supplied by your internet service provider.

If your Apple TV is buffering that most likely means your Apple TV is out of storage. I found that out as it happened to my third gen and did some research. Of course this newer model (128gb) gives you plenty of more space so you won't have to worry about that unless you go crazy like I did dl Apple Arcade games. It was surprising to me that the pictures won't load or the screen saver won't even show if your device is low on space. The Apple tv never tells you.

I believe do. The new chip makes a significant difference in operation. That said, check on reliability of your internet as well.

If everything is up to date it shouldn’t matter. Your iOS could be out of date or compatibility issues with your older model tv, that being said a new tv might be better.
