  • QuestionThere is a delay in the sound when I change channels? Using a sound bar. How can I correct. It was not happening with the Apple TV 2nd generation.

    Asked by long312.

    • Answer Your best bet in my opinion would be to "hardwire" your TV or Apple TV player (from whichever source you want your audio signal "delivered" to the soundbar). So what do I mean by "hardwire?" Simple. Don't use bluetooth. Bluetooth can be a more unstable/unreliable connection susceptible to audio delays. Assuming your soundbar has an HDMI input/output and or a "digital optical audio" input. I would hook your soundbar up to your TV through the HDMI arc/earc input, which is usually labelled s such on the back or side of your smart TV. If your TV or soundbar lacks an HDMI arc/earc connection (highly unlikely if both devices are less than 5 years old), you can use a TOSLINK cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. The TOSLINK cable allows two audio devices to connect through a digital optical output and a digital optical input. Most HDTVs and soundbars manufactured in the past 10-15 years will have a digital optical output ((TV)/input port (soundbar). Once connected to your AV system, your Apple TV box should simply play through the existing setup, assuming it is also hooked up to the TV through once of the HDMI ports on the side or back of the TV. Hope this info helps.
